Nine-year-old Amanda Jackson was diagnosed with neuroblastoma cancer (stage 4) in December 2002.

Neuroblastoma is a cancer that develops from nerve cells. As in Amanda's case, half of the children with neuroblastoma have abdominal tumors. Although neuroblastoma is the 3rd most common type of cancer in children, its occurrence is still rare (approximately 600 cases are diagnosed each year in the U.S.). Amanda is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.
